Countdown to London Marathon for Vista fundraiser

Countdown to London Marathon for Vista fundraiser

One month from today, Nigel Bailey, a Development Executive at Vista, will be running the London Marathon on 28th April to raise money for local charity Together Trust.

The dad of five first got involved with the charity five years ago, just before his son was born. Nigel was so touched by learning about the charity’s work and how they support young people and families that he has supported them ever since.

Together Trust is a leading North West charity, supporting people with disabilities, autism and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Nigel supports the charity as a governor for two of Together Trust’s specialist education settings, Inscape House School in Cheadle and Bridge College in Manchester.

He will truly be going the extra mile for them as he takes on the 26 mile run across London in April to raise money for Together Trust.

Nigel said: “I’m not a runner. In fact, I really don’t like running! The last run I did was a 6k fun run when I was 19 – quite a long time ago. So deciding to run the London Marathon is a really crazy thing for me to do.”

“But supporting Together Trust really gives me a sense of fulfilment. I really enjoy getting involved and knowing that I can help make a difference.”

Rather than setting himself a time goal to finish the marathon in, Nigel has instead set himself a fundraising target of £5,000. He hopes this money will be able to support Inscape House School and provide books for a new library to support the students.

Kaylie Chapman, Community and Events Fundraiser at Together Trust said: “Nigel is really going the extra mile to support Together Trust! We’re so grateful for his support and for all the people who take on epic challenges to raise money for us and help us champion the rights and needs of the people we support.”
