THE VISTA TEAM
Executive Team
As Non-Exec Chairman of Vista Insurance Brokers Ltd, Simon has been part of the business since its inception in 2014 and works closely with Gavin, the Board and Executive team on the strategic direction of the business, supporting them with my vast experience in the insurance broking sector.
Vista specialises in commercial insurance across a wide range of sectors including Private Equity, Construction & Real Estate, Tech & Life Science, Creative, Hospitality, Energy and Retail.
Gavin is CEO and a Co-Founder of Vista. He has more than 30 years experience in underwriting and broking having worked across a variety of sectors, although with a focus on mergers and acquisitions with investors and portfolio businesses, spanning more than 20 years. He has particular expertise in helping businesses manage their total cost of risk through effective risk management and loss control strategies. Gavin leads the Executive Team at Vista and is responsible for the day to day running of the business as well as overseeing the long term strategic plans of Vista, delivering on our key focus around our People, our Clients and our Growth.
Peter is a Director and a Co-Founder of Vista. He has more than 40 years experience in underwriting and broking including at Lloyd’s and with international brokers and financial institutions. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker and is recognised in the industry as a leading specialist in Management Liability and transactional risk. Peter supports our leadership team throughout the business with technical insight and advice. Together with Gavin, he manages relationships with our M&A business partners and our international broking network to ensure that Vista provides a truly global service.
Vaughan is a founding Director of Vista and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker.
With over a 30 year career in insurance, Vaughan has specialised in the construction industry, dealing with the claims arising from, as well as the placement of, policyholder risks. He was previously responsible for supervising the scheme for the Federation of Master Builders for a number of years, as well as heading up the Corporate Division.
Vaughan continues to enjoy an active client facing role as the Director of Construction and Engineering Division with a particular focus on near-shore oil and gas installations, M&E works and infrastructure/energy projects including cross country pipeline and wind turbines.
With 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry, across customer-facing, business management and operational roles, June has been with Vista since its foundation in 2014. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees our regulatory framework, HR, Learning & Development, People and IT processes. Passionate about delivering the best experience for Vista’s customers and employees, she works alongside the Executive Team to deliver effective systems, controls and employee wellbeing which underpins the continued growth of the whole business.
Outside of work and family, June is a massive cricket fan. She likes to play rounders and tennis (when the sun’s shining). Eating good food, drinking nice wine and travelling to interesting places and listening to live music are also high on the agenda!
Mark is Director of Sales at Vista. He has worked in insurance broking for over 20 years assisting clients ranging from SMEs to FTSE100 companies with their insurance and risk management programmes. At Vista he is responsible for driving sales and growth across the business via both new and existing clients, networks and specialisms, and insurer partners and suppliers.
Rich is the Director of Vista’s Schemes and Affinity Partnerships Division which includes the Creative, Hospitality and SME Property Owners teams and products. Over a 20 year career in insurance, Rich has specialised in the creative industries, dealing with the claims arising from, as well as the placement of, policyholder risks. During his time at Vista Rich has overseen and developed a number of specialist insurance schemes and affinity insurance products from inception right through to implementation. In addition, Rich continues to enjoy an active client facing role within the Creative Team.
Ross is Director of Business Solutions for Vista and his role oversees all client servicing and strategic development within incorporating International Business. Making sure all existing and prospective Vista clients have a service strategy delivered on their account whilst progressing with key projects to move the business forward.
Management Team
Sam heads up Vista Evolve which helps clients grow their business with group life, health and business survival insurance.
Formerly at Towergate Insurance, Sam brings over a decade’s experience in the protection and health space and has created a strong reputation in the sector.
A Chartered Insurance Broker with 20 years experience, 10 of which have been spent specifically servicing the recruitment sector, Gary uses his wealth of specialist knowledge to deliver bespoke insurance programmes to agencies of all shapes, sizes and sectors.
Samantha Ferneley has worked in the construction insurance industry for over two decades, providing predominantly latent defects insurance for the last 17 years. Samantha has gained vast experience of the industry as Business Development Executive for some of the national structural warranty providers including Zurich, Premier Guarantee and BLP. Most recently working as a specialist latent defect broker for the global broker Gallagher. Samantha’s deep understanding of the accreditation and insurance requirements for offsite construction projects has led her to be invited to speak on expert panels such as the UK Finance annual conference 2017, The Select Committee panel for Homes and Communities Agency – Capacity in the Home Building industry February 2017 and Homes UK November 2022.
Samantha’s experience is brought to the fore in arranging latent defects insurance cover for a wide range of traditional, offsite and sometimes unusual and difficult to insure projects, seeking the best terms and pricing for her clients. Her attention to detail and efficient ways of working help to ensure her clients make suitable choices for their building projects.
Keith is the Financial Controller at Vista. He is a chartered accountant with the ACCA. He has been with the business for a year and has 6 years of experience within the insurance sector. He manages the accounts department of 3 other people who carry out various finance related tasks including reconciling client and insurer payments, producing monthly account reports and supporting client credit finance needs.
Gillian has over 25 years experience in Marketing and Communications and heads up the marketing function here at Vista. Owning both online and offline marketing activity, client communications and PR, Gillian and her team cover all specialisms that are part of Vista’s offering.
In her spare time she likes walking her dog, gardening and going to gigs and concerts with her friends and family.
James has 20 years industry experience acting within the claims arena and has had exposure from both an insurer and broker perspective during that time. During his career to date, James has handled claims of varying sizes and disciplines including both property and casualty complex major loss. James has been with Vista for 6 years, albeit links to the business and its founding client base go back to its original formation in 2014.
In addition to his own client portfolio and claims workload, he manages a team of 5 and has full operational control and strategic oversight for the Vista claims proposition. In collaboration with our insurer and supplier partners, James’ primary objective at all times is to ensure Vista are delivering a 1st class claims offering and customer journey to our valued clients. You never know the true value of an insurance policy until you have a claim, it is claims’ job to ensure this value is maximised to its full potential, with our clients feeling our full and unwavering support at every stage of the claims process.
Ryan was a founding member of Vista. He has more than 20 years of insurance experience of which the last 15 years has specialised with-in the creative sector. Ryan leads the creative team at Vista whilst looking after all aspects of his clients’ requests specialising in worldwide Liability, Equipment and Cancelation insurance. Ryan also looks after the NWLA account and has a track record of building successful schemes.
Dan joined the Vista Private Equity team in 2022 to lead our insurance due diligence service delivery and to expand provision of our specialist broker facilities to the M&A sector.
Dan is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker with experience that spans owner managed businesses and multi-national corporate organisations, many of whom were backed by Private Equity Investors. He has extensive knowledge of a broad range of industry sectors and their risk requirements, including the Construction industry and has a wealth of analytical
expertise.
Kevin is head of our hospitality division and one of the original founding employees at Vista. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry having worked for both large, household-name, insurers (AXA, RAC Insure and Allianz) and independent brokers. He has particular expertise in the hospitality sector with a focus against Hotels, Guest Houses and Holiday Lets. Kevin manages the hospitality department with a drive to maintain our high levels of service across the initial sale, policy renewal and claims when required.
VISTA CHARITY
At Vista, we are always working on new ways to give back to the community and help others. We believe it’s a core part of our business. We currently assist a number of charities and are looking to support more in the future.
